Dope Kitty organic catnip
Dope Kitty is homegrown organic catnip that is kitten tested and cat-lady approved. It is grown in my yard in Charlotte, N.C., and I personally dry and package it by hand.
I began growing organic catnip for my spoiled feline family right alongside our organic vegetables. So, years of organic soil-prep -- think compost, green manure crops in winter (i.e. winter rye grass), chicken poo (an age-old natural fertilizer) -- have gone into making this catnip a healthier alternative to non-organic catnip that is totally potent, dudes. You can tell the difference simply by doing a smell test with Dope Kitty and other brands.
In addition to product testing on my own dope head cats -- Hamby, Nora, and Norman, several friends offered up their kittens as Dope Kitty test subjects -- even folks who swore their furkids didn't like catnip. The results were unanimous: Cats love Dope Kitty, even former hold outs.
Because Dope Kitty is potent and a natural product, we suggest that you begin doping up your furkids with only a pinch at a time and that you roll it between your fingers to ensure there are no stem bits.
As my kitten, Norman, so, uh, gracefully demonstrates in the photos, cats do love the stems, but because I'm a careful catmom I am diligent about removing them. You be careful too and double check me. Generally, the stems harmless ... but you can't be a proper catlady without being overprotective, right? Right.
Once you know how Dope Kitty affects your kitties, use it as you would use any other catnip -- dip toys in it, rub it into scratching posts and cardboard scratchers, make it rain ... lol (my furkids love it when Dope Kitty falls from the sky).
Regarding storage: Dope Kitty, and any catnip, will lose potency over time, especially when exposed to the air and light. That's why I've double bagged Dope Kitty with a resealable plastic bag and then a sustainable, compostable kraft paper bag.
